Templing

Last Wednesday I went to the Mount Timpanogos Temple with Kelly, Ali, and Rinna. I had never been to the Timpanogos Temple before and it was absolutely beautiful!
I love going to the temple. There is such a feeling of peace and it is a place that I can go to clear my mind and do work for those that have passed on. Going to the temple is such a lovely experience. This one was also great because 2 funny (although funny is not usually what you would associate with the temple) things happened when we were there. The first was when one of the temple workers (an older man that was very friendly) stopped us and asked for our names and phone numbers to give to some guys that wanted them. The second thing that happened was when we were doing confirmations; there was a family that was doing some family names and the names were from an Indian reservation. So we had some interesting names, such as, Pretty Hips, Respect Nothing, Lips, and Suzy Medicine Boy. Yes those were their real names. It was great. I just love the temple. Second Dinner

One thing that I really love is food. Something I like even better is free food.

Tonight I didn't just get free food. I got free dinner. Twice.

And for one of those dinners, I was getting paid. That's right I got paid to eat!

Today we had a meeting at work to discuss things like safety (which confused me a tiny bit considering the most dangerous thing we do in the ticket off ice is hang up the calendar on the bulletin board); well I don't really know what it was about because I only really came for the food and I couldn't hear them over the rumblings of my stomach. I was starving. Then finally they stopped talking and they satisfied me with something I love:
J Dawgs.
If you have never heard of J Dawgs, you should feel ashamed. There are only two reasons you may not know  about the deliciousness called J Dawgs. First is that you have never been to Provo and therefore have not had the opportunity to know of it. Second is that you live in Provo and you are a hermit that never leaves from under your rock. J Dawgs is a hot dog place just south of campus. I love it.

Needless to say I was very happy about getting paid to eat J Dawgs. It was truly delightful.

Then at FHE tonight we had a baked potato bar and homemade chili verde. Some of my favorite FHEs include food, but the best are anything homemade.

Second dinner was just as satisfying as the first.

Nerd Alert: Sometimes I wish I was a hobbit so I could eat all the time and no one would judge me.

Anyways my night was filled with good company and good food. Life doesn't get much better than that.

What a week

Things I have done this week:
  • rode a ferris wheel with Siân-Amy, Clarissa, and Melinda
  • got free popcorn, soda, and cotton candy
  • worked with Lea Salonga's merchandise man, Will, and stood about 5 feet away from her while she signed autographs. you can read more about my experiences with Lea Salonga here.
  • got a free t-shirt and cd from previously said merchandise man
  • got Katie and Brooke hooked on the lovely website Pinterest. if you don't know what it is you should check it out, but be warned: you WILL become addicted
And the week isn't even over yet! I may have fit in some homework in there, but despite any of the homework I have done the things I have done this week have made up for it. Life is wonderful.

The weekend should always have 3 days

First three day weekend of the school year and it was fantastic! Here are some things I did this weekend:
  • breakfast at Kelly's. My first german pancakes and they were delicious!
  • watching BYU beat Ole Miss! 14-13 baby!! Go Cougars!!
  • went to a Latin Festival with Siân-Amy, which included belly dancing, fake mariachi band, wrestling (the staged kind), a man with bag pipes, and Sammy's.
  • manicotti with Katie, Brooke, and Alisha.
  • The Help. I loved this movie! I'm almost done with the book and it is all so good! I went with a group of friends for Elsa's birthday.
  • BBQ at Elsa and Brian's house! To celebrate Labor Day we had kebabs, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, salad, grilled pineapple, and to top it off s'mores with Reese's peanut butter cups.
Three day weekends are the best, but spending them with friends are even better.

See a Disney princess. check.

Well the first week of the semester is over and I've already had a great start to the weekend!
This evening I went to see Lea Salonga perform at BYU. SHE WAS AMAZING!!!!
I went with Sian-Amy and Megan from work. We all decided to volunteer to usher so we could get free tickets and it was so worth it!
If you don't know who Lea Salonga is you should definitely get to know her. She is a broad way star. Also the singing voice of Jasmine and Mulan. No big deal.
She's also completely gorgeous!!!
She sort of makes me want to quit school and become a broad way star. Or maybe a Disney princess (this may be a dream of mine).
Tonight I saw/heard a Disney princess, life complete.
